PERMIS is a successful project, and the results achieved so far were more than encouraging. For this reason, a Market Validation phase of the PERMIS solution was planned and funding for this phase was requested with a project proposal to the e-Ten programme. Unfortunately e-Ten decided to cancel their call in 2002. University of Salford, one of the key actors in PERMIS, is currently getting independent funding to continue with its PERMIS development. PERMIS software is being included in the US Internet2/Grid NMI software release. This is a fantastic success for Europe and for PERMIS, as this is the first non-US software to be included in NMI. A SAML/OGSA document is currently being written that should allow PERMIS to become an authorisation infrastructure for Grid applications, via a SAML interface. We are seeking support and further funding opportunities to carry on the work on the PERMIS solution, please contact the former PERMIS project co-ordinator by contacting directly to the staff at ISSRG, University of Salford Last-updated: 20/03/2003 |
